Become a Mentor

We need your special skills and perspective to show a young person what opportunities they have and give them the confidence to work towards big goals.

Mentors Provide:

● One-on-one attention

● Study skills

● Academic support

● Goal setting

● Encouragement for success

Mentees:

● Learn resilience

● Gain self-confidence

● Set bigger and bigger goals

● Graduate High School and Complete Post-Secondary Education

● Become successful, contributing, adult citizens

Being a mentor is being a positive role model for a child, between 6-18 years old, who needs and wants one, possibly because

● Guardians, due to various circumstances, are

unable to dedicated as much time as needed

● There is a desire to confide in an adult other

than their immediate family

● There is a need for a youth to have a consistent

adult in their life

Your weekly visit with your mentee may include activities such as a

visiting the library, walking in the park, attending a sporting event,

shopping, job shadowing, helping with school work or just going out

to eat and talking about what’s going on.
